A Xiaomi EV just beat a Ferrari in a drag race on a dusty desert track. No contest.

The grip was challenging. The surface was slippery. And the Ferrari had no answer.

Not simply because the Xiaomi had more power. Because it had a different kind of control.

An EV's motor controllers can adjust torque on each wheel in milliseconds. When grip is low and uneven, that precision matters more than brand, heritage, or engine note. The car is not just pushing harder. It is sensing, deciding, and correcting faster than a traditional drivetrain can respond.

I saw the same thing years ago watching a Tesla handle icy roads on regular tires. Where ICE vehicle might have spun out, the Tesla kept reading grip at each wheel and adjusting continuously.

That is the real story.

Not speed.

𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬.

Great metaphor for AI!

We keep framing AI as doing what humans already do, just faster, cheaper, or at larger scale. That framing misses the bigger shift.

AI enables decisions at a speed, granularity, and simultaneity that humans simply cannot match. Not because humans are weak. Because some problems require processing than no human, or team of humans, can physically execute in time.

Fraud detection across millions of transactions.

Drug interaction modeling across thousands of molecular combinations.

Personalization for one person, in one moment, across millions of people at once.

These are not just accelerated human tasks.

These are new operating capabilities altogether.

And what that means is: 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐳𝐞𝐫𝐨-𝐬𝐮𝐦 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞.

What AI unlocks isn't taken from humans. It's added to what's possible.

Instead of only asking, “What will AI replace?” we should also ask:

“𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞?”

That is where the real opportunity lives.

AI does not remove the need for human judgment, taste, ethics, or imagination. It raises the ceiling on what those human qualities can create.

And humans still decide what is worth building.
