AI is not a SaaS upgrade.

Treating it like one is exactly why your pilots stall.

Most deployments follow the same pattern: pick a use case, bolt on a tool, measure time saved, declare success. Except the time saved never compounds.

Because the ๐›๐จ๐ญ๐ญ๐ฅ๐ž๐ง๐ž๐œ๐ค was never the task. It was everything around it.

Manual approvals. Legacy systems.

A manufacturing company I read about recently took the opposite approach. Instead of patching their quoting process, they rebuilt it from the outcome backward: faster bids, higher win rates. The result? Quote generation 15x faster. Win rates up 10 points within three months of launch.

Not because the AI was smarter.

Bain's data across clients shows the same pattern: firms that reinvent their workflows, rather than overlay AI on top of them, are seeing 10โ€“25% EBITDA gains. The firms still running pilots are wondering why nothing is scaling.

The hard part of AI transformation isn't the technology. It's having the discipline to stop optimizing what exists and

Most companies aren't ready for that conversation. The ones who are, won't wait for you.
